American singer and dancer Corina Kwami, fronts Corina Kwami & the Swing Selection. With Ghanaian and Irish roots, Corina has lived in 10 countries and worked in over 20, bringing a global, renaissance, variety to her playing and storytelling. Corina Kwami in her fabulous duo blend cultures, much like jazz,have done for decades. Her repertoire includes beautiful jazz standards from the 20s, 30s, 40s, originals, a splash of French, Spanish and Portuguese and toe-tapping swing.

The latest album feature friends and prestigious special guests, including the likes of Grammy award-winners Maurice “Mobetta” Brown and Charlie Porter; Grammy-nominated saxophonist Marcus Strickland & MOBO-winning saxophonist Binker Golding; Latin-Jazz living legend percussionist Snow Boy and Karl Vanden Bossche; and musician Corina Kwami, backed by the “organ trio” powerhouse of the group, guitarist and band leader Clément Régert, organist Chris Bland and drummer Sophie Alloway.

Corina Kwami performs at Swing North's Annual General Meeting
We have an action packed evening for our members and guests, in the panoramic event space at HOME in Manchester.
Proceedings will begin with an update from the current admin board, before members will nominate and vote for this year's leadership team.
We're thrilled to be welcoming Corina Kwami, who will be leading a discussion, exploring the history of swing dance, aiming to give context to help with our understanding and approach today.
After the talk, there's just time to grab some food in the downstairs bar or restaurant, before Corina returns to sing live with our friends from The Big Easy.
